Alan Wake,Crackdown,Perfect Dark,Kameo--these are games that they can "reinvest in" for the next gen. I haven't played Kameo but alot of people like it.

The screwed up part is the they have the money, talent, etc to make excellent games but they choose not to go that route. Last gen they did pretty well with creating new IP's although some did suck.

They bring something big every year. With the exception of this being a Halo/Forza/Gears year because of the Halo remake. M$ usually runs a predicatable schedule with their games. I think that the surprising success of Kinect probably allowed them to push Gears back.
They have the right to do whatever they need to do to make the game better. Hell they could pull a 2K (NBA 2k11) and patch it up after 2-3 months on the market and still have a f*cked up game.

I am confused as to why everyone is attacking xbox live and Ms's policies.
1. They were the ones that created it. They had the vision they had the plan. xbox live is their baby. They can do whatever the hell they want to.
2. Xbox Live has been an enormous success with them doing it their way. Developers (Valve, etc) have no business telling them what to do with their service.
3. Sony would love for Psn to be on Live's level of success so of course they will try...

Chrono Trigger is in a class by itself. It took me months to beat that game. I find it funny that the RPG's of the 16bit era offer more longevity and better in depth story than any of the drivel that they release today of any genre. These young bucks have no idea what they missed out on. Man Chrono Trigger was a damn good game.
Damn 9 years!! I was an original beta tester for XBL and have been on since that time.I think that I still got that tight ass T-shirt they sent with the starter kit. Man NFL Fever 02 was good and Revolt was okay. From what they started out with to what they have today is truly remarkable. XBL has made things alot better for ALL gamers.
let's not pretend that if Sony drops the price of the ps3 we may very well see a $99.99 Xbox 360 or a Kinect bundle for 199.99. At this point how much does it cost to produce 6-7 year old technology. That's why they are making so much money. Ps3 is a superior system but the 360 is the supreme money maker.

I think that you all over estimate marketing. The Halo series is a solid series,Gears is a solid series, as well as Forza. Hell even the Fable series moves units. The game has to be good enough to sell. I saw several commercials for Haze and it didn't sell. You guys come across like M$ makes crappy games and then hypnotizes everyone into buying them. Their big games are solid with each arguably at the top 3 to 5 of their respective genres.
Let's say that both Sony and M$ execs decide they want to sell 8-10 million units of first party games in 2011. MS can probably push 8-10 million units with 3-4 titles while it may take Sony 6-9 exclusives.
Its all about moving units folks. Sales are everything and only a stupid ignorant as*clown would say otherwise. You ask a developer if they would rather sell 10 million copies or win game of the year at the Spike TV Video game awards and see what they tell you.

I honestly don't think that when most folks go and buy a game they get it because its exclusive. You guys on here are like the complete opposite of the real world. Damn another one of these articles. Uncharted 3 doesn't have to worry about Gears of War 3. UC3 has to be worried about the hellish release date Sony has put it in. This game is in no man's land sandwiched between MW3 and Battlefield 3. Remember what happened to Alan Wake and that was only against Red Dead Redemption. Of the 3 games UC3 is probably the one that will be sacrificed by the consumer. Sony has to know this. They got to move the release date up.
I feel bad for this game. Its going to be awesome but i strongly feel that its going to get lost in the shuffle with the monster titles coming out. The average gamer will not buy all the titles. MW3m BF3, Batman, Assassin's Creed, Rage. I think that Uncharted 3 maybe the one that underperforms. This game if it is really a step above UC2 needs to shine.
